Where do you craft?
September 22, 2007 11:59 am just stuph, stamping and scrappingWhen I first started out, I was using the kitchen table. But once it got to the point where it was too much trouble to move stuff so that we could do things like…ummmm…sit down and EAT…I had to make a change.
So I bought an inexpensive sewing table from Joann.com and set up shop in the corner of the living room. It’s still kind of cramped, but it’s better than the kitchen table. And until we move, this is going to be it…there is no place else to set up, not much room for anything.
I often drool with jealousy when I see pictures of other people’s craft rooms in magazines. Just recently, there was a spread in Martha Stewart Living with her new craft room. Yeah, yeah, yeah, think what you want to about Martha, but I’ve been a fan from way back, and still am, even though she spent time in the slammer. So bust me!
Anyway, I realize that Martha has trazillions of dollars, so she can easily afford a big house with plenty of space for the mother of all craft rooms. Her new craft room is in her attic, and it’s gorgeous…outfitted with top of the line office furniture, storage fixtures, and all. It is HUGE!
But I believe that even those of us who don’t have Martha’s money can use many of her ideas in our own humble homes. We may not have as much room, and our furniture may not be as pricey as hers is…but we can use her ideas to make do with what we do have.
