Lately, I’ve gotten into the bad habit of staying up most of the night and then sleeping away a lot of the day. I really need to put an end to this. Maybe I need to go and pitch a canvas tent out in the yard and sleep in that…it’s cold enough that yeah, I’d wake up in the A.M.
Even when I actually do go to bed, I end up sitting up half the night watching TV. You know it’s sad when you know by heart the entire FOX-25 overnight line-up…
- 11:30 PM – Seinfeld
- 12:00 AM – The Simpsons
- 12:30 AM – King of the Hill
- 1:00 AM – Replay of Fox News @ 10
- 2:00 AM – Cops
- 2:30 AM – M*A*S*H*
- 3:00 AM – Infomercial
- 3:30 AM – Another infomercial
- 4:00 AM – Cops
- 4:30 AM – TMZ
- 5:00 AM – Fox Morning News (during the week only, it’s usually kids’ shows on Saturday and religious shows on Sunday)
Yes, sometimes I’ve sat up and watched all of this stuff. Not good.
I actually do need to haul my sorry carcass out of bed at a reasonable hour tomorrow…we have a lot to do. I REALLY need to mail some stuph at the Good Post Office…it’s way overdue. After that, Mike wants to go to this train show out in Marlborough. I’m going along because I’m desperate to go to anything that gets me out of this house. Plus, it’s in a hotel…they have a bar there, so I can go and have a beer if/when I get tired of walking around looking at trains. That bar has local microbrews and decent food, too…we’ll probably eat lunch there.
Then we need to go shopping for grocery items that are not turkey. I’m sick of turkey…honestly, I don’t see how people can have it for Thanksgiving, and then again on Christmas. By the time we finish up all the leftovers, and made turkey soup and all, we are sick of it. That’s why we usually have a ham for Christmas.
Maybe I’ll try the sleeping pills again tonight. They’re over-the-counter ones, and they work only so-so. But I’m NOT about to go to some doctor to get prescription ones. The doctors around here all just want to put people into the hospital, and I’m not letting myself get caught up in THAT nonsense.
I just need to get out of the habit of sitting up too late, then I can sleep at night and get up at a semi-normal hour!
