Whether you are staying at home for the holiday, or you’ve packed up your Samsonite and traveled to visit family or friends…please make sure you have a safe and happy time!
As always, we are staying at home. Traveling is too stressful, and there’s really not anyone we want to go and see. Neither Mike nor I wish to spend the time, money and stress to go and see families who put the *fun* into *dysfunctional*. Or not.
Seriously, I don’t understand why people kill themselves every year, deal with the stress of delayed flights, long lines at the security checkpoint, and all…to spend a holiday with people that, if they were honest with themselves, they really don’t like?
We’re adults. We don’t have to go *home*, because our home is here. We don’t have to put on the dog & pony show to please people we really don’t care about, people who are critical of us the other 364 days of the year. It’s just us and the cats, and we’re happy that way. It’s very freeing to take a stand and say, NO, we’re not going to Dysfunction Junction for Christmas or any other occasion.
