Dewey:Â The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched The World
I first heard of this book on the CBS Sunday Morning Show a few weeks ago. It is the story of a cat who lived for 19 years in a small town Iowa library, named Dewey, after the Dewey Decimal System. His full name was Dewey Readmore Books.
Dewey was found by library manager Vicki Myron (who is the author of this book), stuffed into a book return slot, in the freezing cold. She officially adopted him to be the library cat, and there he lived for 19 years, until he passed away.
This is not only the story of Dewey, and how he affected the lives of so many…but the story of Vicki, as well. She divorced a loser husband, raised her kids alone, and battled cancer.
This is an easy read, and a very uplifting story. If you are looking for some good Amazon books, look no further. You can pick it up at Buy.com for less than the Amazon price, and get it quicker, too. It’s also eligible for a free shipping deal.
If you love cats, you will love this book. Check it out!
