Filed in just stuph

We’re members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the one and only in Cooperstown, NY.  Today I got this thing in the mail, saying that this personalized baseball bat could be mine…IF I buy a gift membership for someone.

But WHO?  Honestly, I am not sure if I know anyone who could use a membership.  Yeah, so we don’t go every year, but we still keep up the membership just in case, and also because we like to support the museum.

I collect mini-bats, I buy them from every ballpark I go to.  I’d love to have one of these, and it’s something you CAN’T buy, they only come custom-made via this offer.

I am thinking of running some sort of contest over on my baseball blog, where I give away a gift membership, just so I can get this personalized mini-bat.  But I don’t want to have to give it to some moronic Y*****s or Tampa Bay R**s fan.  It used to be that most of the obnoxious Y***** fans were “bandwagon” fans, they seemed to disappear from trolling my blog fast enough once the Y*****s started to suck and stopped winning the World Series year after year.  Now I am seeing the same bandwagon thing with the R**s fans.  For years, their team sucked.  But now they suddenly got good, and all of a sudden, they have legions of “fans”.  And I can tell the bandwagon ones a hundred miles away, as they are the ones who troll my blog now.  These so-called “fans” are not worthy of the shrine that is Cooperstown.  I don’t ever want to see them there, ever.  Only R**s fans who liked the team even when they sucked are worthy.  I was a Sox fan even when they sucked, and should they start to suck again, I will still be a fan.

I’m talking about this here because I’m just throwing ideas around, and I don’t want the obnoxious bandwagon fans to see this on the baseball blog.  I’m thinking of making it a contest that takes some effort to win, maybe an essay contest where spelling and grammar count, and/or a photography contest.  The photo contest might be a good idea, especially if I limit it to the spirit of the blog and limit it to pics taken at New England ballparks.  I could actually limit it further to MINOR LEAGUE, that would pretty much eliminate Red Sox bandwagoners, as well.  They are just as bad as all of the others.

I’ll have to think about this some more.
